THE HISTORY OF HIV/AIDS
It all began a little over 25 years ago when gay men on both the East and West coast were popping up with odd infections and cancers. This soon grew into the "Gay cancer" or "GRID" (gay-related immune deficiency) scare. Much worry and panic ensued when people realized HIV did not only infect homosexuals and Haitians, it could infect them too......
It has been many years, and many lessons since then. Now our fear is we are living in a world of apathy towards non-African HIV. As people see celebrities like Magic Johnson fighting the disease they think he has the cure.... he doesn't.
It is our duty to our fellow man to keep combating this deadly virus... to fight to break down stigmas and walls... because
If one of us has AIDs..
ALL OF US HAVE IT!
AID's doesn't care if you're black or white,
If you're yellow or red,
It could even care less if you were purple polka dotted.
AIDs doesn't care who you sleep with,
how often you sleep with them,
or what kinky positions you try.
If you worship God or Allah,
Perhaps a tree?
AIDs frankly doesn't care.
If you live in the city...
If you live in the country..
A palace or a shed
AIDs doesn't care..
AIDs affects us all,
it touches our lives..
or our kids..
or their kids..
Maybe our parents.. brothers.. sisters..
Our friend's die of AIDs..
Our lovers...
Somehow..
in some way..
AIDs will affect you..
The question is.. AIDs doesn't discriminate....
